These are known as U15 group. U15 institutions undertake 80 percent of all competitive university research in Canada. Collectively, they produce more than 75 percent of all doctorates awarded in Canada.

University of Waterloo is extremely known for its computer science programs. University of Toronto is popular for all courses including computer science. Concordia university in Quebec is popular for its Aerospace programs.

I do not recommend to chose university based on rankings but it is a good start, you must look for the program you intend to pursue, resources available and other factors listed in the below post.

    Why Rankings are not much big issue ???????? the rankings of colleges make the people get hired and engaged either in industrial or academia.
